Role

We’re looking for an Intelligence Researcher to join TPR’s Intelligence Team and support the development and delivery of high-quality intelligence products and services to the organisation and our external partners, as well as identifying risks that impact the marketplace.

The role of the Intelligence team is to support, inform and challenge; ensuring TPR is an intelligence-led Regulator who are targeted, strategic and tactical.

The Intelligence team sits within the Regulatory Compliance directorate and support TPR extensively by gathering and sharing intelligence. We are organised into four teams to best achieve our aims, to which our Intelligence Researchers are a key part.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • be responsible for the processing of information received into the Intelligence Team, evaluating its relevance and reliability, making recommendations for onward dissemination, and ensuring it is available for further exploitation
  • undertake research to produce intelligence and/or inform analytical products, including collecting, collating, and evaluating information from a wide variety of sources
  • prepare, deliver, and provide briefings on research summaries and findings, to clearly and accurately inform decision making and/or facilitate analysis
  • support the identification and development of new sources and methods of research to ensure that intelligence products reflect latest methodologies and best practice
  • develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and partners, such as liaising with other agencies, to support information sharing
  • provide administrative support to all areas of the Intelligence Team, including the organisation of meetings and minute taking
  • adhere to all legal frameworks, internal procedure, business rules, and policy and guidance relevant to the role

Essential and desirable criteria

Essential

  • Experience in collecting, collating, and evaluating information from a variety of sources including open and closed sources.
  • Proven ability to prioritise your work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understanding of robust governance, compliance, and risk assessment processes, always ensuring the security of sensitive material.
  • Confident IT skills with the proven ability to learn and adopt new systems.
  • Willingness to be security cleared (SC level).

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a law enforcement, regulatory intelligence, a risk environment, insurance claims, review of fraudulent activity or security vetting would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of national standards and frameworks including the National Intelligence Model.
  • Knowledge of TPR’s Statutory Objectives, strategy, and pensions legislation.
