Role
This role is a great opportunity for the successful candidate(s) to develop their career in enforcement, managing a portfolio of some of the most interesting, challenging and high profile enforcement investigations undertaken by the Pensions Regulator and achieving outcomes both personally and through managing a small team.

Responsibilities
You will:
- establish and deliver strategies for enforcement investigations
- take ownership of criminal/regulatory enforcement Investigation(s) allocated to you and your team and deliver them to their conclusion ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources
- progress your investigations and those of your team in line with Enforcement’s Key Performance Indicators and escalate to senior colleagues within a clear decision-making framework
- work with a broad range of internal case team advisers (lawyers, accountants, actuaries and investment consultants), building your own knowledge and working as a case team
- work with external counsel and experts (when required) and manage the budget for their costs
- have line management responsibility for members of the team, supporting the development and the management of investigations conducted by your line reports
- lead on projects and training supporting the continued development of our team, directorate, and organisation
- produce investigation reports with recommendations for any appropriate enforcement action
Essential and desirable criteria
Essential
- In depth experience of leading, decision making and delivering outcomes on complex criminal (financial), civil and/or regulatory investigations.
- In depth knowledge and experience of all aspects of investigation techniques (for example evidence gathering, interviewing and disclosure etc) and legal requirements for the conduct of investigations in criminal (financial),civil and/or regulatory investigations.
- Ability to set clear strategies which include consideration of risk mitigation.
- Experience of analysing complex financial or business information and identification of risks.
- Experience of communicating at all levels including drafting investigation reports, escalations and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Experience of delegating, mentoring, coaching and otherwise supporting the development of team members.
- Financial and commercial awareness.
- Proactive approach and committed to achieving good outcomes.
Desirable
- Awareness of case processes for criminal, civil and regulatory proceedings, and legal requirements for the conduct of cases.
- Experience of using a broad range of options to achieve a positive outcome in complex or high profile cases, including consideration of and use settlement and legal powers.
- Line management experience.
