Role

The TPR Organisation Design (OD) Practitioner role will be working within the People Directorate, to support the transformation agenda at TPR. This is an exciting time to join TPR as we work through a dynamic and rewarding programme of transformation.

There are 2 x 12 FTC roles available, and the focus of the role will be to connect across the organization, getting into the details whilst supporting senior leaders and their teams to assess the current state and create a future state that aligns to strategic priorities to which underpin the organisation to become agile and responsive.

The OD Practitioners will lead design activities, ensuring all materials are managed correctly and be involved in the day-to-day design work with a focus across the whole organisation. You will also ensure the consistent application of organisation design principles and methodologies, in addition to supporting workforce planning and the building of robust operating models.

This role will provide the opportunity for you to move from the research and design phases into recommendations, implementation, and delivery within the next 12 months. You will work closely with the People Business Partners, Learning and Development Manager and team, Chief Transformation Officer, OD Consultant and Change team colleagues.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • engage and facilitate with leadership, stakeholders, and key process owners to evaluate current structures, processes, and ways of working, seeking input from cross organisational leadership and functional specialists
  • assess complexities, duplication, gaps, and inefficiencies
  • work with organisation design specialists and change leaders in the organisation to identify Learning and Development interdependence and develop plans to address these
  • propose and assess recommendations for design, seeking input from stakeholders and working with Finance and People colleagues to outline the design and the impacts, so proposals can be fully assessed, and any changes are fully understood and reflected in project plans
  • create and manage design documents, decision logs and all other relevant documentation

Essential and desirable criteria

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the end-to-end organisation design process, whether this be as a dedicated organisation design professional or a HR expert who has led similar projects successfully. A good example of this, is a HR Business Partner who has successfully led organisation design and operating modelling projects.
  • Proven ability to apply organisation design and change management approaches and methodologies.
  • Expertise in workforce planning with a future focused view.
  • Knowledge of effective operating models and systems.
  • Demonstrable understanding of effectively working with the connections between people, processes, and systems in driving organisational effectiveness.
  • Deep knowledge of different design tools and how to apply these effectively.
  • Proven experience of delivering a holistic, whole-system approach to organisation design and managing such programmes in a large and complex organisation.
